    Good Morning Year 1
I hope you are all well and I know that you have been working hard. I have been writing some poetry while we
have not been at school and really enjoyed doing it so I am sure you will write some brilliant poetry about animals
and I look forward to reading them when we are back at school.

My favourite animal poem is ‘My Horse’, by unknown.

How I love my little horse!
I will brush him very well, of course,
I will comb his tail and mane,
    And go riding out again.

It is my favourite because I would like to have my own pet horse when I am older.

  3. Mrs Parker says:

    Hi Gwen

I love your poem too. Thank you for sharing on the blog. It is lovely to hear from you. Maybe you will own your own horse one day!

  4. Reuben says:

    My favourite poem is;

    I saw, I saw, I saw
    A lion at the zoo,
    I saw, I saw, I saw
    A baby tiger. too.
    I saw, I saw, I saw
    A big grey kangaroo.
    I saw, I saw, I saw
I saw them at the zoo.

Thank you for posting your favourite poem. I like the fact that it rhymes. I hope you have enjoyed this half term’s topic ‘Paws, Claws and Whiskers.’ Happy holidays!

I found this great poem on youtube about animals it was really good. The man gets faster and faster reading it. I listened to it three times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzyqY3pQ7MI

It was a great poem Pippa. It was a real tongue twister and the author read it so quickly. Great choice! I hope you have a good half-term holiday.

What lovely poems Gwen and Reuben. I enjoyed reading them and they were good poems and quite different.
    Enjoy the sunshine!

I love the poem ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen. This was the first book I have read all by myself. Here is my favourite verse:

We’re going on a bear hunt.
We’re going to catch a big one.
    What a beautiful day!
    We’re not scared.

      Hi Dominic
I love this book and the rhyme in the story. This is a great one to act out too! I hope you are having a good week.
