It is important to find solutions when a friend is not kind to you so that you can stay friends.
You should treat everyone with respect especially your parents and family, policemen, doctors, nurses, firemen, teachers armed forces and our friends.
We should respect everyone including all religions.
It is good to be different and we should celebrate difference.

Year 3 have watched the video with Amelie and Shaeya and have had a good discussion about what RESPECT means and WHO we should show respect to. People we show respect to include teachers, police, doctors, nurses, firemen, the Queen, builders, the armed forces and the Prime Minister.
We had a long chat about how we show respect at home to our parents and how we speak to them and how we behave.
Maisie – I show respect to my mum and dad

Dexter – I respect the environment including wildlife
Chloe – I respect older cousins and family members.
Ellie says its important to respect everyone because everyone is special and different.
Harry also said people like sports coaches also need respect because sometimes they are not paid but are volunteers!!
We are going to work hard in Year 3 this week to show respect to one another!

Joel said that people shake hands as a form of greeting each other and showing respect.
What did Amelie and Shaeya find out about respect when they interviewed lots of different people?
Aidan said he found out that people will treat you with respect if you show them respect – you could do this by listening carefully to what they are saying. Nikki said that you need respect to build a community – everyone must work together. Joel said that if you respect your friends, they will respect you. Ted said to respect other people’s belief. Kye said to respect other people’s ideas even if they are different from yours.
Why is it important to show respect?
George said if you don’t show respect then others won’t respect you and that wouldn’t be a nice world to live in. Ted said that we are all human and all need to respect each other to live happily.
