Year 1’s dreams for our world are:
-To make sure there is no bullying. (Dylan)
-To make sure there is no litter on the ground. (Gwen)
-To be kind to everyone. (Hollie)
-To be kind and helpful in order to make peoples lives better. (Isaac)

Martin Luther King Jr’s dream was that a black child and a white child could hold hands like brothers and sisters (which at that time in the USA was not the norm). It was also that people could be judged for their behavior and not by their skin colour. It was agreed that this was a good dream because things need to be equal and fair. We talked about Rosa Parkes who refused to give up her seat on a bus.
Our dreams for the world focused on the environment – using less plastic (Neil), not littering (Georgia) and creating a big submarine that could move around the ocean picking up all the plastic (Elijah).
Year 6:
What was this man’s dream?
He had a dream that a black child and a white child could hold hands which wasn’t normal at that time. He also hoped that people would not be judged by the colour of their skin.
Do you think this was a good dream?
Year 6 all agreed that this was a very good and powerful dream.
Sophie – it would make the world more fair and bring peace
Immy – it’s not fair that anyone should be treated by the colour of their skin
Jacob N – yes because it means that people are treated equally
Do you have any dreams for our World?
Rylee – I hope that people will stop wars and make peace
Kai – I hope that knife crime stops
Alfie – I hope that climate change stops
Immy – I hope that everyone will be treated equally no matter who they are or what they believe in
Aidan – I hope that global warming stops
Ted – I hope that all humans and creatures have a home
Joseph – I hope that people don’t run out of food
