We have lots of dreams and goals in foundation. Here are just a few:
– Annabelle and Flossie would like to learn to ride their bike without stabilisers
– Charlie and Gracie would like to learn to swim and Molly B would even like to swim a length.
– Frankie would like to learn his letters
– Ella and Sofia would like to tidy their bedrooms.
Mrs Norris talked about how she’d like to go to Australia again one day.
We are looking at Dreams and Goals in class this week and making medals to help us achieve them.
In Year 1 our dreams and goals are:
To get better on the computer (Eva)
To be a zookeeper (Dylan and Chandler)
To be an actor (Albie)
To keep my bedroom tidy (Gwen)
To be a police officer (Noah and Alex)
To be a footballer (Rio)
To be a gymnast (Chhaya)
To eat more fruit and vegetables (Sebby)
To be a fireman (Mohammed-Deen)
To be a famous jockey (Orla)
The teachers want to try to eat more fruit and vegetables, get better on the computer and to exercise regularly.
Year 1 said that if things are challenging that can make it difficult for us to achieve our dreams and goals. Sometimes we need other people to help us and we may have to be patient and wait for this help if they can’t help us immediately.
We think the quotes mean that you need to believe in yourself and work really hard to achieve your dream. We think that anything is possible. It also means that you shouldn’t spend your time thinking about what you want to achieve, instead you need to get on and make it happen! Be decisive and don’t delay.
We have been talking about dreams and goals.
Georgia: to do more reading; Lexie: to be a heart surgeon; Ellis: to run a dessert company; Adah: to get Grade 1 in piano.
We talked about that Mrs Hosking has the goal to learn how to bake a good sponge and BBQ a quail.
Some of the difficulties we can encounter in reaching our goals are our willpower (being able to say no to the extra piece of cake) and not doing the things we know we need to reach our goal – like practicing a lot if we want to be good at piano.
‘If you dream it, you can do it’ means you have the belief in yourself, having the right mindset (Zack).

When I grow up I want to be mathamtison because I love maths like 13 +34=47 or45-10=35or 12+23=35.
One of my dreams are to look after people and to play with them. When I have Children I will get them a first teddy like my first teddy called Humfry he is a cow and I allways sleep with him now .Also one of my dreams are to stop watching tv.
My dream is to be a ice cream lady or a techer. My goal is to lisen to the techer loads and to eat more fruit and read books.
I have loads of dreams and goals. I wish i could tell you.
In Year 3 today we learnt all about Dr Jane Goodall and her dream to live in Africa to study chimpanzees. She had to work hard to get her dream and do lots of little goals to reach it. Finally at the age of 23 her dream came true! She was asked to go to Tanzania and study the chimpanzees at Gombe National Park. We really enjoyed learning about how she studied to get her dream.
We then shared our own dreams about what we want to be and do when we are older. We know now that we are going to have to work to get our dreams but ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE with hard work and determination.
We had a sheet with a flower and in the middle we wrote our dream and around the edge we wrote our goals on the petals to help us achieve the dream!
We can achieve our goals like Dr. Jane Goodall if we keep practicing maths, science and English.
We like the quotes Miss Mason has used ‘If you can dream it, you can achieve it!’
