    Christmas is celebrating Jesus and when he was born. Different country’s around the world do different things .
    CHRISTMAS IS REALLY FUN!!!

    Christmas is about celebrating baby Jesus when he was born. People celebrate Christmas at different times and different ways.

    I think that some countrys are diffrent to other countrys and have diffrent Christmas. But some are like North America.

    I think that North America is like our country in the Christmas time but other country’s are not like our Christmas in Norway they put there shoes infront of the chimney and Santa would put sweets and treats but they haft to polish there shoes. In England we celebrate it differently.

    Christmas is about celebrating and the Nativity story. People in different conturies celebrate Christmas very differently to us.

    Year 3 enjoyed learning about how Christmas is celebrated in other parts of the world. They told me all about Sweden, Brazil and Canada! They even learnt that Santa is sometimes called St Nicolas is some countries. We are all looking forward to Christmas in Year 3 with our own English and family traditions.

    Norway polish there shoes and put them out for st Nicolas. they hope there shoes get filled with sweets.

    Pippa told us that trees and lights are popular decorations all over the world at Christmas time.
    Gwen told us that in France the children put their clean shoes by the fireplace on Christmas Eve for father Christmas to fill with sweets.
    Holly told us that in Canada they have a Christmas like ours with traditional roast dinner but they also eat yule logs.
    Sebby said that in South Africa it is their Summer at Christmas time so they have presents in their stockings and barbecues on the beach.
    The children enjoyed finding out about how children in other parts of the world celebrate Christmas.
    Luke told us that in the Unites States children leave a cookie and milk for Santa.

    Christmas is different in different parts of the world because countries all do different things like – some do a nativity scene, some make stars (South America). Alice
    In France, they put shoes in front of the door (having cleaned them) and get sweets inside. Ellis
    In some countries it’s summer so it’s really hot on Christmas Day. In Canada they have a chocolate yule log. In South Africa some have BBQs. Mrs Hosking talked about how she celebrates Christmas in Australia – she goes swimming and eats lots of seafood for lunch.

    Year 2 enjoyed the assembly about Christmas around the world. They thought it was really funny that in some parts of the world like Australia, Christmas is celebrated in the Summer. They remembered thta in France, shoes are polished and filled with toys.
