  1. Lee says:

The hare and the tortoise message is dont rush .My favorite fable is the boy who cried wolf. The story tells you not to lie as 1 time you might need help and no one will believe you.

  2. Leah says:

I know about the boy who cried wolf. He always said there was a wolf when he was looking some sheep then one day there really was a wolf and people didn’t believe him when he tried to warn everyone. He had it so many times that people didn’t help when he really needed him too.

  3. Sebastian says:

The boy who cried Wolf – Don’t scream for help if you don’t need it.
The old lion and the Fox – The lion tricked the animals but the fox was very clever
The peacock and the Crane – It’s not good to show off
The Donkey and the Wolf – Don’t go by a donkey’s foot he will kick you in the face
The Tortoise and the Hare – Slow and steady won the race

My favourite fable was The old lion and the fox because the fox noticed the footprints going into the cave but not coming out.

  4. Harry Wilson says:

I have read The Hare and the Tortoise fable. It tells you to be slow and steady and not fast when doing things. My favourite fable is Town Mouse and Country Mouse because Country Mouse gets scared of all the dangers when visiting Town Mouse.

  5. Toby says:

We read the boy who cried wolf, in this fable the boy keeps crying out that there is a wolf, but when the villagers come to help there is no wolf there. Later on the boy sees a wolf but when he cries out no one comes to help because they think he is lying again. The message of the story is that no one will believe a liar even when they are telling the truth.

  6. Charlie Wells says:

Wow, Charlie must have enjoyed the fable because he has just recited it almost word for word! He said the message of the fable is that ‘slow and steady wins the race!’. We have read two other fables together; The Lion and the Mouse and The Ant and the Grasshopper. He enjoyed all three but his favourite (and the one he has remembered the most of) is the Hare and the Tortoise.

  7. Imogen-Rose says:

I have read some fables. Someof the stories i have read with my daddy is the tortoise and the hare and the crocodile and the scorpion.
The message of the tortoise and the hare is that if you take your time and are careful it is better than rushing and being careless.
I like this story because the animals and the hare thought he would win but he got tired because he was going so fast and the tortoise just kept going and won the race.

  8. Riley O’Connor says:

Riley said he has read the tortoise and the hare. He said the story was about the hare thinking he will win the race. Riley said the message was slow and steady wins the race because the tortoise won even though he wasn’t as quick.

  9. Olivia Padgett says:

I like the hare and the tortoise because a tortoise is my favourite animal. I like the lesson SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE! The boy that cried wolf, the hare and the tortoise, the monkey and the tiger, the mouse and the lion, the cygnet and the stork, the hippo and the cheetah, the hyena and the lion, are all in my library book.

  10. Scarlett says:

The boy who cried wolf is a good fable. The boy joked that there was a wolf but there really was one in the end. It teaches you not to joke about needing help because if you really do need help no one will believe you.

  11. Oliver Roberts says:

The mouse and the lion is Oliver’s favourite fable the lion got trapped in the net the mouse rescued him by biting the net off. The mouse was brave

  12. Haris says says:

Haris’s favourite fable is lion and a mouse because lion got trapped then the mouse helped him out.

  13. Anonymous says:

Ellie’s favourite fable was the hare and the tortoise. The tortoise was showing off about how fast he could run but after falling asleep the tortoise won the race. Slow and steady wins the race. Ellie also enjoyed the boy who cried wolf. The meaning was not to lie about things because when you tell the truth people might not believe you.
