Elliot and Sebby have enjoyed playing listening games this week. They particularly like playing the ‘Soundtracks’ games we have at home, which involve listening for everyday sounds or animal noises in a bingo type game. Elliot has also introduced us to Mr Thorne and the boys have loved watching his videos – they think Geraldine is hilarious!
Geraldine is certainly a character! I love the soundtracks games too, we also have those at school. We shall have to get them out and Elliot and Sebby can help us. Great challenge work both!
Reuben’s favourite game is Simon says,
He found it really hard to start with but is getting better at listening especially with the help of his big brother Riley.
Matilda told me which ingredients we would need for a cake. She thought we would need flour, sugar, eggs and butter. We played Simon said and she was fantastic at it! She has also been telling me about Ob and Bob and we have been thinking of words that would go to Bob and words that would go to Ob!
Great work Matilda. Yes, you would normally find those ingredients in a cake….in the story ‘The Toy’s Party’ Kipper’s mix of ingredients was not quite so appealing, just ask Matilda!
Pippa likes playing the traffic lights game and listening to the instructions. We also made a pretend cake in her kitchen. She told me that kipper put tomato sauce and cornflakes in his cake!
Yes, unfortunately he did. It most certainly did not look like the cake he imagined at all! I like the traffic lights game too, although my favourite is the ‘Beans’ game. 🙂
We have been playing lots of Musical Statues and Simon Says, Alex has been practising his listening skills. His favourite thing is being in charge of Simon Says though and making mummy do lots of silly actions!

What great team work. It can be a tricky game to start with, keep on trying Reuben! Super challenge work. 🙂

Gwendoline has been listening to the sounds of different animals and instruments and guessing what they are.
That sounds like lots of fun!
Indiya has been playing musical statues and simon says. She seems to understand the concept of the games and has really enjoyed playing them.
We played musical statues at our Christmas party, it is a classic party game but a great one for practising listening.
We enjoyed simon says, musical statue and musical bumps
Those are all great games, I hope you enjoyed them and had lots of fun!
