Sebastian said the signs of winter in his back garden are ice and fallen leaves.
He also said he knows when it winter as Alfie his cat uses his house outside to keep warm.
In the winter it sometimes snows and it can be very cold and frosty. In the garden the plants don’t grow as fast as in the Summer as it is too cold. I enjoyed our winter walk because the water was frozen in the bird bath and we got to touch it.
A sign of winter is when I look in my garden I see frost on the ground and the grass crunches when I walk on it.
I enjoyed the walk today because it was not raining and we found a fox hole.I also like the sounds the wind was making it sounded like a wolf
It was really great this year as I got to build a snowman in the garden, we also have to scrape mummy’s car most mornings before school.
We saw frost on the floor, the bird bath was covered in ice and I cracked it so the birds could get some water. There was also a tree that was broken because the wind blew it over. I loved the walk
Riley said he knows its winter when he looks out at the garden because it’s very foggy and icy. He also said the ground is wet and muddy today.
Riley enjoyed walking around the school grounds and said he liked finding the ice in the bird bath instead of the water.
Ava said we sometimes see snow in winter, have snowball games, build snowmen and go sledging. We also see lots of robins in our garden, which Mommy loves! Ava enjoyed the walk because it was something different to do and because she saw a branch fall off the tree! She also saw a nest which was fun!
Chloe has seen birds looking for food and the trees are bare. Sometimes the garden is frosty and the ground is very hard.
Chloe enjoyed the walk but was glad to go back into school as it was very cold!!!
Hattie said she has seen frost on the ground and trees. We built a snowman when it snowed and I helped my daddy dig the drive, so he could get his car off there. We went on our sledges but my brother didn’t like it as he kept tipping out.
We make sure that we always put food and water out for the birds in our garden as when it’s cold it freezes and they might but not be able to find a drink. My mommy does not like the winter.
