  1. Foundation says:

Elsie-Rai was able to tell us that Prince Harry is getting married on Saturday and her nanny will be watching the wedding. Mrs Norris explained that he would be marrying Meghan Markle who is from the United States of America.
We looked at the Royal Family website and Max was able to tell us about Queen Elizabeth.
Foundation enjoyed talking about the different members of the Royal Family and remembered that we had made cards for the Duke and Dutchess’s new baby Prince Louis.

  2. Year 1 says:

Imogen told us that it is Prince Harry who is getting married on Saturday to Megan Markle. Freddie knew that they were going to be married at a castle. Nathan told us it was in the chapel in Windsor Castle. We found out that it was called St George’s Chapel.

The facts we know or found out:
    – The Queen is married to Prince Philip and they have four children
    – The Queen’s children are Prince Charles, Princess Ann, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward
-Charles is the Dad of Prince William and Prince Harry
    – Prince William is married to Kate and they are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
-William and Kate have 3 children – George, Charlotte and Louis
    – Louis was born on St George’s Day

    – Megan’s bouquet will have myrtle and peonies
-Prince William will be Harry’s best man
    – The wedding cake won’t be a traditional fruit cake

Year 1 are going to be watching the wedding on the television and are excited about seeing Megan’s wedding dress and the carriage pulled by the horses. They said that some people will be having parties and that they will be waving flags with the Union Jack like the one they made at our afternoon cream tea.

  3. Year 2 says:

In Year 2 we talked about Prince Harry and his family. Someone asked if he was going to be KING! The answer is NO! His brother Prince William will be King after Prince Charles is king after Queen Elizabeth is gone.

In Year 2 we know these facts about the Royal Family:
*when Prince William is King then his son Prince George will be King
*the Queen has TWO birthdays every year
*there used to be a King James
    *Kings and Queens wear crowns
*there are crown jewels in the crown
*people have tried to steal the crown jewels
We enjoyed reading the facts about the Royal Wedding.

As an activity in maths we broke the secret code to find the people’s names who are in the Royal Family.
Some of us are going to watch the wedding on TV on Saturday.

  4. Year 5 says:

    Year 5 says:

Prince Harry is getting married to Meghan Markle at St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Year 5 are excited about the Royal Wedding and some of us are going to celebrate by:

    – Going to a family members and having a tea party
    – Having a roast dinner
    – Making queen-themed food
    – Watching it on TV and waving the flag

    CHALLENGE:
The Union Jack flag is made up of three older national flags: the red cross of St George of the Kingdom of England, the white saltire of St Andrew for Scotland, and the red saltire of St Patrick to represent Ireland. Year 5 looked at a picture to show how the flags have all merged together to create the Union Jack.
