  1. Year 4 says:

Jim and Della showed that they loved each other giving up something of their own to buy a present for each other.

We think that Jim and Della felt shocked, dumbfounded, funny, horrified, happy and loved.

  2. Year 1 says:

The children really enjoyed the story of Jim and Della and were upset that they had both given up things so that they could buy a gift for each other. The very things that they had bought were sadly no longer useful.

The children had lots of ideas about how they show that they love their families. They said that they give hugs, kisses and smiles to the people they care about. They also said that they share with those they love and are always kind to them. Doing jobs and being helpful at home was also a way of showing care and love.

  3. Year 6 says:

    How would they feel?
Ariet- they would have felt surprised and upset.
Chloe – It would have been a bit shocking, but at least they have something that they could use if they earn back what they had given away.
Molly – upsetting, but happy, because they both sold their favourite item for the other.
Emily – they would have maybe felt surprised at what the other had done in order to buy a present.
Macy – I think they would feel loved.

    We show others love by…
Sam – by doing chores like the washing up
Amelia – making breakfast in bed
Harvey – spending your pocket money on a gift for someone
Faith – making a cup of tea for your parents.

  4. Year 3 says:

Year 3 shared all the ways we can show love to the people in our lives:
-help them when they need help
    – give cuddles and kisses
    -respect them
    -play and make them laugh
    – care for them
    – and most of all make the happy and proud of us!

  5. Year 2 says:

In Year 2 we shared with our talking partners what our favourite things at home are and whether or not we would sell them to make money. Ten of Year 2 would sell their favourite thing so they could buy someone something nice. We discovered that sometimes the most special things in our lives are our family members. Sometimes its hard to sacrifice something for other people.
