It is difficult to choose just one favourite! When I was a child the books I loved the most were, ‘The Wishing Chair’ by Enid Blyton and ‘The Snow Spider’ by Jenny Nimmo. Both are exciting magical adventures. I am looking forward to finding out what the children in Foundation love to read tomorrow…
When my son was little his favourite bedtime story was ‘Tatty Ratty’ by Helen Cooper, I think I read it so many times I can still recite it word for word. It has beautiful illustrations and a happy ending, perfect at bedtime.

Lexie told me she has a special storybook with lots of lovely stories in that she loves to hear. Imogen’s favourite books are the fairy stories with all the different types of fairies. Mollie said her favourite story was Rapunzel. Khai said his favourite was a non fiction book as he enjoys learning and he now knows lots about ‘Fossils’. Red also enjoys fact books and he loves to read about the creatures under the sea. It was lovely listening to all year 1’s ideas about their favourite books. We all love sharing books. Reading is so much fun!

The children in Foundation love stories and many of our learning themes are based on a wide range of them. This week we are reading ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’. The children love to make puppets and role play the story, as well as become bridge engineers for the week. Both Isla G and Ben have decided that this is their new favourite story! Sophie asked if the favourite book could be one from home as she loves her princess books. Dan loves adventure stories and he loves to read ‘Jake and the Neverland Pirates’, this sounds very exciting! Zack F loves the traditional tale that we read last week, ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’.
