Darcy enjoyed the word searches the most. She thinks Florence Nightingale is thoughtful and caring and thinks she definitely deserved a medal because she helped people and didn’t want people to die. The soldiers liked her because she was trying to make them better. She is known as the lady with the lamp because she had to carry a light with her because there was no electric and no light. It was dirty and there were rats so she needed to see so she didn’t tread on the rats!!
Florence Nightingale helped the soldiers get better and they liked her because she had a lamp and they could see. She deserved a medal because she had done really good work. I have really enjoyed this work and especially liked when she had a lamp and when we had to do the guessing of what her name was.
I enjoyed drawing and colouring in the picture of Florence nightingale and writing a little sentence about her.
The soldiers liked her because she cleaned the hospital and looked after the soldiers. She is known as the lady with the lamp because she was holding the lamp in her hand. I enjoyed the Florence nightingale word search and making a Florence nightingale out of paper.
My favourite bit was writing about her and drawing a picture, I liked the word search as well. I have been telling Mummy about Florence Nightingale, how she helped the sick soldiers and how there were rats, and also how there were not enough beds for all the soldier. She was very kind to the soldiers. I have enjoyed learning about her a lot.
Joel has been talking about Florence Nightingale a lot at home, he enjoyed drawing and colouring a picture of her and the word search, he thinks that Florence was very caring and she had a kind heart. They called her the lady of the lamp as she needed a lamp to guide her to help the soldiers. Florence deserved a medal and a trophy!! Joel’s really enjoyed this subject!
