  1. Year 5 says:

In year 5 we have jigsaw Jez living in our book corner.
We are looking forward to learning about different ways we can stay calm in our lessons. We are also looking forward to learning about mindfulness. We have covered it before with Mrs Arnold and we liked it.

  2. Year 1 says:

We loved meeting all the new Jigsaw characters and were really excited when Jigsaw Jack came into Year one. Our first lesson was all about making Jigsaw Jack feel welcome in our class. We had good ideas to help him settle in. We did a circle time and followed the rules of circle time respecting each others ideas and listening well. We also enjoyed the chime and looking at the pictures to help us feel calm and ready for the learning.
We had lots of ideas about what our hands can do and we are working hard to make sure we have kind hands in year 1 and that we take care of our friends. Lots of children gave Jigsaw Jack a hug when he went around our circle.
This week we are working hard to say kind things to our friends and have good manners.

  3. Year 2 says:

    Hello everyone!
We enjoyed meeting Jo our Jigsaw piece this week! He is bright pink and very friendly. This week we read him stories and talked about what we are looking forward to in Year 2 this year! We learnt about the Jigsaw Charter so we could listen to each other in circle time. Each of us had a chance to speak and share with our friends.
We also have a very special chime that we listened to a few times. We tried to see who could hear it the longest. We look forward to using the chime in our Jigsaw lessons.
Our first set of lessons is about ‘Being Me in Our World’!

  4. Year 4 says:

Our Jigsaw piece is called Jaz and she is bright blue and very smiley. We could nearly remember all the different names of the Jigsaw friends! We are really looking forward to our new Jigsaw lessons because we always enjoy PSHE. It’s a really interesting and useful subject as it teaches us how to be an even better version of ourselves. We think that the mindfulness will help us in many ways too.

In assembly we thought about how useful our hands are. But we were reminded that if we let them, they can be used in both positive ways and negative ways. Here are some of the positive ways we’ve used our hands and mouths this week:

    -High fived friends.
-Held hands with friends on our Walk a Mile.
-Hugged a friend of family member.
    -Shook hands to show respect.
-Asked if our younger siblings need help or are ok.
    -Made friends laugh.
-Talked kindly to our class mates.
-Remembered our ‘pleases’ and ‘thank you’s’.

  5. Mrs Turner says:

Foundation will be meeting their jigsaw piece called Jenie tomorrow in their first PSHE session, they will really enjoy this as they have enjoyed meeting Billy the Bee this week. The children have been learning the rules and routines of Foundation 2 and have been trying really hard to use their hands in kind ways. This morning the children have been helping each other to build towers and castles using bricks and blocks, they thought carefully about their designs and discovered that using the bigger bricks at the bottom made for a steadier structure. William helped his friend Dylan by placing bricks around the base of their tower to make it stronger. This afternoon we began learning to use our hands to control a computer mouse, we will continue to practice this as it was very tricky!

  6. Year 6 says:

    JIGSAW
    -Jem, Jaz, Jack, Jeno
    -Jem is in our class.
-We found out it is very relaxing and it helps us work with others.

    HANDS
-We learnt that you can show love with your hands and friendship. e.g. hand shake or hug with family member.

    POLITICS
    Things we learnt:
I learnt that we are really lucky to have a fair country.
I learnt the names of new leaders.
I learnt in some countries you have to vote.
I learnt facts about other countries.
