Year 1 had plenty of ideas about how they could keep safe when it is dark. Everybody thought that high-viz jackets were a good idea. William said that carrying a torch would be useful. Joe said that we all need to remember to wear light coloured coats. Zachary said a reflective belt with a flashing light would be a good idea. Aimee suggested we should wear fluorescent slapbands. Alex thought that a reflective coat with strips on would help us to be seen.
We enjoyed Josh’s assembly about being safe on the roads. Things that keep us safe on the roads are jackets, torches, shiny things on your bike wheels, lights on your bike and slap bands. We have been practicing crossing the road safely in Year 2 doing our ‘Walk Smart’ programme. Check out the Year 2 BLOG!!
You can wear the bright jackets and the bright snap bands to be seen in the dark the reason you can be seen in theese clothes is because they are briight colours.
When it is dark you always have to wear bright clothes, otherwise you won’t be seen.
Don’t wear dark clothes because if someone is in a car and you are crossing the road you might get hurt by the car.
Don’t wear dark clothes when it’s dark!
i think that if we all wear slapbands,bright clothes,have lights on are bikes and have bells on our scooters and bikes then we would all be very safe and cars would see us.
You have to were speshell jackets and trousers what have light on them so people can see them in the dark.
If you were black clothes in the dark the people in the car wont see you.
Different things you can were are shiny wrist bands what you can see in the dark and theres caps aswell.
So be safe around at night because if you were black clothes people wont see you in the dark thats why you have to were shiny light clothes and then everyone will see you in the dark.

We spoke about the ways we can make sure we are seen at night.

Reflective spray
Reflective stickers
High visibility gloves
We could wear bright clothes when the evenings get dark. you could also use different types of reflective clothing.

Ican wear bright clothes in winter when it gets cold and in the dark.
