  1. Darcy says:

We’ve talked lots about all the creatures we might find in the sea over the weekend. We’re watching the blue planet while we’re doing the blog, to see if we can spot any animals that Darcy didn’t think of! Darcy is going to write some of the sea animals she has thought of.

    jelly fish
    star fish
    whales
    sharks
    fishes
    dolphins
    octopus
    sea snakes
    mermaids
    crabs
    turtles
    seals
    prawns
    oysters
sea fly – no one has ever heard of these, apart from Darcy….!!!

    • Mrs Turner says:

What a fantastic list, I love to watch Blue Planet! I have haven’t heard of a Sea Fly either, I wonder if Darcy could draw us a picture?

  2. Immy says:

I watched The Blue Planet with the big blue whale. My favourite animals were the turtles laying eggs because the eggs were so tiny and the dolphins because they could jump so high. I saw the spookfish too, which I’d seen before in Octonauts. The orcas were quite scary!

    • Mrs Turner says:

Well done Immy, you looked carefully at the different sea creatures. A Spookfish sounds scary… What does one look like?

  3. The Parry Boys says:

This week we have been looking at photos of Mummy and Daddy when they were in Australia. They went to lots of aquariums and saw a whale when they were on a boat. We have listed lots of different sea creatures both big and small. We talked about when we saw dolphins on our holiday last year. Jacob has been watching ‘mysterious island’ which has a giant crab in it! We are looking forward to this weeks story.

    • Mrs Turner says:

Super discussion boys, your parents sound like they had an amazing time! Jacob was very excited by the film and enjoyed scaring me with the front cover 🙂

  4. Red says:

I am really interested in great white sharks because they are fast, interesting and scary. They are the best killers in the sea. They kill fish and sea lions. They can jump right out of the sea. That is called breaching. Mummy and daddy went to see them in South Africa and went diving with them.
We have been to the Sea Life Centre and we saw a hammerhead shark. It was really amazing. It was very big, as big as me.

  5. Jamie says:

Tonight we showed Jamie pictures of when mummy and daddy swam with dolphins in Florida, he was amazed to hear the dolphin pulled us both along in the water, we then watched animals videos on youtube, we saw Sea lions, Sea horses, Jelly fish, sharks & whales, and crabs, and we also watched how animals hide in the water from the sharks. Jamie found the noise’s the sea lions make very funny. Jamie is looking forward to this weeks story.

    • Mrs Turner says:

Excellent work Jamie! You can tell us all about how the animals hide to stay safe from sharks. What do you think sharks like to eat?

  6. Khai says:

Khai likes watching Octonauts and it is about sea-creatures. He has learnt about all sorts of interesting creatures like a vampire squid and a giant squid .We have also been to lots of aquariums, they let us touch the star fish and the crab, the star fish was very bumpy. Khai likes the hammer-head shark and the big turtle. He loves the tunnel where we feel we are walking through the sea, luckily we don’t get wet!

    • Mrs Turner says:

I love to see the sea turtles swimming overhead in the tunnel too, although I’m not so sure about the sharks! The starfish must have felt really interesting, what an exciting experience! I wonder they like to eat?

  7. Sophie says:

We spoke with Sophie about all the different creatures that live in the sea. We all like to go to see the fish at Nottcutts – especially if Nemo and Dory are there!
