In Year 3 we talked about all the different ways we stay safe and how staying safe mean protecting our feelings, our bodies, our personal information and where and when we need to stay safe.

The children in Year 3 have lots of ways of staying safe – at home and at school. Miss Payne reminded us of stranger danger and how we learnt to cross the road safely in Year 2 with Walk Smart.

When Mrs Arnold came to our class she taught us about how to stay safe on the Internet by using passwords to protect our information and how to create a STRONG password. We also talked about bullying online and how we can show kindness to others by having good manners. We should never say something online that we wouldn’t say to someone’s face.

  2. Year 4 says:

In Year 4 we have thought about how to stay safe when doing every day activities. The children thought about the following:

William – Make sure you look left and right before you cross the road
Isla – If you are young, make sure you have an adult with you to cross the road

Finley – In the sun you need to have sun cream and a hat and stay hydrated with water
Archie – Stay in the shade when it is really hot

Elodie – When baking a cake make sure you use the oven with an adult
Jake – Make sure you cook things for the right about of time so you don’t get food poisoning

Aaliyah – When playing out with your friends, stay safe by going only where your Mum tells you to go
Ross – Don’t play football by the road

Millie W – If yo uare young then have an adult in the sea with you
Zach – Make sure when swimming, don’t go underneath for too long

Borys – When travelling in a car, make sure you don’t use your phone while driving – tell your parents!
Adam – Don’t eat and drive
Alex – Always put your seatbelt on

In foundation we enjoyed talking about ways to keep safe. We talked about the poem and Chhaya said that being scared was like big monsters that scare us, this is how the world can be to us.

Albie said it was important to have a crash helmet while riding on our bike so that we stay safe.
Luke said to stay safe in the car we should have our seat belts on and our car doors locked.
Gwen said it was important to have suncream on in the sun, while Sebby said that we also should have a cap and sunglasses.
Jack pointed out that when cooking ovens are hot and should only be used by our grownups.
Jay said that when he is playing with his friends he make sure his grownup knows who hes playing with. Holly said she makes sure she only plays in her garden.
Gwen felt that you need to stay safe at swimming by making sure you have your floats and armbands on.

Thank you Miss Mason for reminding us to think of ways to keep safe.
